Hi, I'm Brianna, but everyone calls me Bri! I'm a 27 year old creative with a heart for floral design. I grew up in Kansas City, Mo and moved to Oklahoma City, in 2016 after graduating high school. Over the last few years of figuring out my adult life, I was fortunate enough to land a job at a small business where I learned the art behind flowers.

When the business closed in 2023, I decided to continue my love for flowers and start an instagram page that quickly turned into a business. I've always aspired to be my own boss and when the opportunity presented itself, I took a leap of faith. My hope and goal for Modern May is to be an open and inviting space where creativity can thrive. I value inclusivity, honesty and respect and believe that our differences can create something truly beautiful and unique.

What made you start your business?

My love for floral design quickly grew when I was hired at a local business called Flower and Flour. I spent two years learning and falling in love with flowers and when the shop unfortunately closed in March of 2023, I didnt want to give up designing just yet. I decided to create an instagram page and from there my business grew. So many of my friends and family were encouraging and excited when I created the page, that I decided to make this new hobby of mine a reality and establish it as its own business.

Your vision, where do you see yourself in a couple of years

I have so many passions and dreams of mine that I'd love to see brought to life in the next few years. For Modern May Design, I'd love create a space that offers not only financial freedom for myself and family but an opportunity to connect with people in a way that makes them feel accepted, heard and valued. I would love for my art to express who I am as a person and those values I hold dear. You are welcomed here.

I've had many passions that have eventually didn't amount to much and although I don't know everything, I do know I'm amazing at floral design. I have been fortunate enough to have spent the last few years learning from some of the most talented women in the business and want to continue to expand my palette to challenge my creative mind. Creativity is limitless and I ultimately just want to be given the chance to let my work speak for itself. Through my modern, fresh and elegant design style, is the personality of a girl with a dream of being successful in every aspect of life. A girl who simply wants to be a light in a world that can be heavy at times and create a space where anyone who comes by Modern May leaves feeling welcomed and heard. Choose me, because I choose you.
